The research project „Beethoven and His Music in Nazi-Occupied European Countries“ meets for its annual conference 2023 at the German Historical Institute in Warsaw. To underline the importance and longevity of Polish-German cultural exchange the opening night is dedicated to „Beethoven and Poland“.
The opening night will include:
– greetings by H.E. the German Ambassador Viktor Elbling, Cornelius Ochmann on behalf of the Foundation for Polish-German Cooperation as well as Prof. Dr. Ruth Leiserowitz representing the hosting German Historical Institute,
– a panel on „Beethoven and Poland“ with Michael Custodis, Małgorzata Grajter, Ruth Leiserowitz and Christine Siegert,
– and the Shoven Quartet performing Ludwig van Beethoven String Quartet No. 11 in F minor, op. 95 “Serioso” and Mieczysław Wajnberg Improvisation and Romance for string quartet.
