Robert Andersen

He studied violin with Øivin Fjeldstad, Bjarne Brustad, G. Turicchia and Max Rosthal and became a band master („kapellmester“) and violinist in Bergen.

On 7 January 1942 he was arrested and on 27th February sent to the Polizeigefängnis Møllergata 19 in Oslo. On 17 March 1942 he was imprisoned in KZ Grini (#1766) and released on 15 December 1942. He continued his studies after Norway’s liberation in the U.S. He was married to pianist Eva Knardahl.
