Karsten Anker Andersen

He was a student of Ernst Glaser (1936-39) and additionally studied organ and harmony with Arild Sandvold at the Oslo conservatory (1937-39). He became a member of the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra and took conducting lessons with Odd Grüner-Hegge. After the Second World War he additionally studies at the Academia Chigiana in Siena (1947) and became the Kapellmeister of Stavangers’s city orchestra until 1954. Amongst other positions he became the artistic director and conductor of the Musikkselskabet Harmonien (the music society) in Bergen in 1964.
