As we regard the present situation in Europe we witness the omnipresent dichotomy of “music and politics” in a tragic way. Reviewing traditional and controversial positions found in European and German history, the lecture will discuss efforts to deal with the ambivalence of music and artistic autonomy in our own political times.
After the lecture there will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss, as well as to to talk to each other about the current world situation, especially about the war in in Ukraine.
