Kjell Aarnes was arrested on 11th November 1943 as a pupil on the peninsula Bygdøy outside of Oslo for singing a German-critical song („jøssingsang“). He was imprisoned in KZ Grini (#8566) and released on 2nd February 1944. On 27th April 1945 he was arrested again, sent to the Polizeigefängnis Møllergata 19 on 28th April 1945 and released on liberation day 8th May 1945.
