Pianist and composer. He was trained in Oslo by Mary Barrat Due, Nils Larsen and Arild Sandvold as well as in Vienna, Berlin and Paris. He celebrated his debut as pianist in Oslo in 1922, as organist in 1933 and as composer in Oslo in 1945. On 16th February 1941 he was arrested by order of Staatsrat Jonas Lie for illegal activity. He was arrested again on 24th August 1944 for distributing flyers (“Flugblattverteiler”), sent to Polizeigefängnis Møllergata 19 for being involved with illegal newspapers (“aviser”) and released on liberation day 8th May 1945.
