After studying law probably in Trondheim he took his exam in 1919 and started a career as a lawyer. From 1922 to 1924 he conducted Trondheim‘ student choir, founded the male choir C.K. (Cecils Kor) and in 1930 and conducted the Trøndernes Mandssangforening in the years 1934-1948, occasionally also composing. He died during a tragic fire accident in a mountain cabin.
