Born into a family of artists (mainly actors and singers) she studied singing with Borghild Langaard and Haldis Isene.
Although the resistance movement considered her trustworthy, she participated also in Walter Fyrst’s official propaganda movie on the occasion of Edvard Grieg’s centenary in 1943.
